Start With Your Dog’s Regular Food

Changing food during a boarding stay can upset digestion at the same time your dog is adapting to a new routine. Bring enough regular food for the entire reservation plus a small buffer in case travel plans change.

Two clear packing options

• Bring the original food bag, securely closed and labeled.
• Portion individual meals into labeled bags marked with the dog’s name and AM or PM.

Write feeding amounts in an easy-to-read format. If multiple household dogs eat different diets, package and label each dog separately.

Use Secure Walking Equipment

Arrivals and departures are exciting. A correctly fitted collar or harness and dependable leash give everyone better control. Check worn clips, buckles and tags before leaving home. Make sure identification and emergency contact details are current.

Bring Care Information, Not Household Clutter

Provide current veterinary information, emergency contacts and any verified behavior or handling notes. Dogwalker Ranch provides bedding, blankets, bowls and water dishes, so personal blankets and toys are generally unnecessary unless staff specifically approves them.

Leaving favorite items at home also reduces the chance of loss or damage and prevents resource-guarding concerns.

Make Drop-Off Easier

Complete forms before arrival when possible. Keep the goodbye calm and confident, and avoid turning departure into a long emotional event. Dogs often settle more easily when owners communicate trust and staff can begin the new routine.
